Founded in 1976 to address the issue of access to primary health care

Serves five Appalachian counties: Adams, Brown, Clermont, Highland and Fayette

Twelve offices throughout the service area

Approximately 50 primary care providers

Services include: Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Ob/Gyn, Psychiatry, Behavioral Health, Dentistry, Pharmacy

Employs physicians, dentists, licensed independent social workers,
nurse practitioners, physician assistants and hygienists

Employs nearly 230 support staff

Receives federal funds annually which account for less than 20% of HealthSource budget

Operating Budget is approximately $30 Million

Treats all patients regardless of ability to pay
Offers a discounted fee to patients and families who qualify

Payer mix includes: Medicaid, Medicare, Private Insurance and Managed Care as well as uninsured and underinsured
In 2009, HealthSource treated 53,955 patients with 227,082 visits
